I want to apply for a job as an UAV electronics technician working on UAVs. Chances are good I will get this job but I would like to do some research into UAVs just in case I do happen to to get the position. If anyone has any technicial code on designing UAVs and can share them it would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know about UAVs, but I am quite sure good old captain Vince will be happy to provide information about guidance systems, proximity/laser warheads and GPS guided artillery shells...
LOL. Sorry, but it isn't just like sending you 10k lines of source code to look at.
An UAV has a huge number of subsystems. And each subsystem has a lot (!) of source code.
One singe developer does not work as an expert on all the individual systems. If you do get the job, the employer will make sure that you get assigned some job to do. Take it from there.

Doubtful anyone is going to send you their code to help you land the job. I have worked on a few UAVs over the past 12 years. www.nasa.gov/.../09-151AR.html On this one I designed an MSC1210 based temperature controller and readout for the IR camera, using Keil tools. I wasn't there for the deployments but was told there were no problems with it.
