P.S. I'm bored
Think of military thermal vision system.
Is it a weapon?
It may be used to target weapons, but are the ones writing the software for it complicit?
Yikes this thread jumped up: monikers-n-all.
#1. Thanks for the vouch there Cyril: BTW read your email. (and thanks for the kudos) #2. Of course I google snippets and pass the off as my own work. Oh, wait, I would have to post some 'proof' otherwise. #3. That 'proof' standard of Jack Sprat would be what exactly? #4. If I posted actual code, I would be breaking two things: a) security, and b) confidential IP #5. Those 'photos' I have aren't google-able: e.g. to gain a chain of claims like the MRM I would have to post the following: -- MRM in flight (published--Duh): www.raytheon.com/.../cms04_022892.wmv (no, I don't work for Raytheon) -- MRM still photo (published): http://i.imgur.com/FyquM.jpg -- MRM electronics validation (un-published): http://i.imgur.com/JMV0r.jpg -- MRM guidance section (un-published): http://i.imgur.com/7Fq7t.jpg -- MRM wind-tunnel testing (un-published because I can't find the photo at the moment) -- Gee, Sardine-head, with all that info, you should be able to google that, right? go ahead and try.
#6. I can 'brag' about doing both the electrical design and the firmware, but to prove so is obviously not going to happen (posting schems and code--I think not) #7. Anybody in MY position can brag about stuff, but we usually don't even bother with forums. I happen to like this one, and I think that there are many things I could contribute to, in order to 'help' others. #8. Andy ... you've been quiet... I've emailed you, but please honor what I asked for (anonymity) #9. Anonymity, DUH. Some of the stuff I illude to shouldn't be illuded to sometimes. #10. So, Jack... I've been into the electronics/firmware business since the 1970's. Thus the 'archaich' references... and the inability to spell. #11. "New" stuff isn't really that new, *IF* you know what you are doing.
#1.
<great stuff snipped>
You just keep on living the fantasy, Vince. It seems to entertain people, so why not?
It is futile to convince a fish of anything. But you keep up the 'fantasy' remarks as your own bait to me. My ego issues are all flaired up now.
the sardine seems particular full of bile these days, maybe a big dog bit him in the can :)
Erik
Does this about cover it then?...
Look what I did... Cool... But Im not me... OK... You didnt do it... He did too... Didnt do it... Did too... Did not... Did too... Stinkyhead... DogBreath... ...
Did too! http://i.imgur.com/y9w57.png and with plenty of Horse-Power baby! --Cpt. Vince Foster 2nd Cannon Place Fort Marcy Park, VA
"You're darn right more power!".
Urgh..Urgh..Urgh..Urgh..
I am against the ability to hide identity in a forum by using some stupid monniker (would certain people spew so much bile, if they coud not do it anonymously), but the above [Tim (THE Toolman) Taylor] would constitute the exception that confirms the rule :)
I guess you're the living proof that (at least one) person is prepared to 'spew bile' using their real name. Does that answer your question?
What I was really amazed by, though, is the fact that you've twice used a ":)" in this thread. I believe they're called 'emoticons' and are very much the currency of yoof culture. Well done!
But you keep up the 'fantasy' remarks as your own bait to me. My ego issues are all flaired up now.
Ok, ok, I'll try not to mention it again. I can see it's getting you all worked up. I just felt the people here are such soft targets for nutcases they ought to have a little bit of a reality check.
The people who help the most on this forum are Erik, Per, Andy, Tamir, and several others. I rarely 'help' other than on an 'overall' basis, or line of thought. (Rambling though they be). Antagonists like Jack Sprat keep the forum kind of funny, and enjoyable: trading barbs. Yes, monikers are used and that doesn't bother me because I ensure I use one. My reasons are sound. I've been in the 'secret' business and I'm not going to publish my name on some chump ridden forum (except for those few that is). That has more to do with my ability to be more immune to fellow aerospace workers to see into my warped mind. There is a story behind my name. Cyril knows it. I'm an 8051 expert along with several other processors, so if I choose to spew my thoughts, I feel free to do so. Andy knows who I am. He is an honorable person. Keil knows who I am, and they've been good about helping me in a big way. I'm a long-time customer, and have 'forced' many companies to use/buy Keil tools. I'm doing just that again. Another $10k USD or so should be in the works soon. One of the Keil selling points is indeed the forum's activity. Much thanks to those "real" people like Tamir, Per, Erik, Andy, and several others. It makes it a lot easier to choose Keil due to this fact. Fish-heads like Jack provide enough levity through the use of 'venom' that I don't think Keil should moderate out these types of comments. Even Flat Black has his days.
As for a reality check from a smoked sardine goes, I'm a land dweller, and I have my feet firmly planted on solid grounds.
Well thats my two bullets worth (one in the neck, and one through the pallet).
This is probably the forum where some people are most busy finding themselves huge numbers of aliases.
But using an alias can sometimes be quite helpful/needed. I'm most definitely limited to what I can write in a forum in relation to employer or customer relations, NDA, product release plans, ... I guess the same goes for a lot of other people. Only students seems to think anything can be discussed - and then they are regularly very surprised when people can't post them complete source code. And if (when) I make a real fool of myself, I can't control the size of the rings on the water when it's me and not an alter ego that is flapping there in the water :)
The people who help the most on this forum are ...
Ok, to summarise:
Everyone is your best friend (except for me, of course!). You use a pseudonym so your co-workers don't realise you're a lunatic. Cyril knows who you are. You really like the idea of killing people.
Did I get it right?
Unless...you are really not Per Westermark...
I just googled your name and found out you set the Forumla 1 fastest boat qualifying time in 1997!!!!
Just kidding...
Dear z.about.com/.../smoked_sardines.jpg ,
I have no animosity towards you. You just feel compelled to put in a dig at *something* too often.
I like having a target of ridicule. But your contributions to helping people aren't the greatest. (Not to say mine are of super value)
I'd love to see what you've worked on. I'd find that interesting. You Got Any? At All?
