Yes, this is a good one, I always see people using in the linux, but aslo I know it can using in the Windows. for me, I often write PC programs with VS ide, so it's good to have same develpment environment with the MCU development. I think we have a little bit digress, I just want VS51.exe or something like that.
So it's not so much that VS per se enhances your productivity - it's that using a familiar tool enhances your productivity.
VS also is a tool, With much more plug-ins
