Does anyone know of single chip silicon with a video ADC that can DMA into the memory space of an ARM micro?
John; I'm sure there are other devices but I suggest that you look at the beagleboard using the TI OMAP3530.
The device is software supported by Keil, Linux, QNX, Android and more. It's an ARM chip with a DSP co-processor and graphics accelerator.
Look at http://www.beagleboard.org.

Don't ARM have their own graphics accelerator now...?
Some devices may have graphics but I suggested the one device that I'm most familiar. The OP must do more work defining all his requirements but the little OMAP3530 is not expensive and has a lot of public support and a very low cost eval board from DigiKey. Bradford
Thanks for your comments. I see that both the BeagleBoard and OMAP3530 provide only analogue video output and NOT input. I wish to capture short sections of video type information into an ARM. Should I conclude there are no solutions on the market for this? John
No - I don't think you should extrapolate from just two boards to the entire market!!
