RS232 Flash Magic Download

I have version 3.0 and 3.1 of the MCB2300 evaluation board. With version 3.0 I am able to download a hex file using the Flashmagic executable via the RS232 port COM0. When I try to down load to the version 3.1 board I am able to erase the flash, but then the Flashmagic application looses communications with the MCB2300. I have observed that the processor is not reset after the flash is erased. When I run a jumper from the reset switch to the processors reset pin the board operates as version 3.0 and I can erase the flash, download the hex file and the application runs with out a problem. The first two boards have the same revision of processor which is: MLC2368FBD100, SH9941.1, ZSD0824B. I have a third board that exhibits the same symptoms as the first 3.1 board. When I install the jumper I am able to erase the flash, but the processor looses communications and I can not download the hex file to flash. The third board has a processor revision of: MLC2368FBD100, S60978.1 04, ZSG0701-Y. Can you provide me with information on how to fix the second version 3.1 board or provide me with a delta between the two versions. I understand that version 3.1 fixes problems with v3.0 and that the current schematic of version 3.0 represents the intended state of the net list for both versions. An accurate schematic of both versions (what was broken, what was fixed and what was changed) would be greatly appreciated. Since there is a physical difference between version 3.0 and 3.1 it has become impossible for me to resolve the issue by simply examining pin states. Thanks!!!
