how to control gsm modem using microcontroller 89s52

 hi...i m using 89s52 microcontroller to control the gsm modem.i m using simcom 300 gsm modem with RS232 port. My problem is that i don't knw how to control the gsm modem using microcontroller....although i read many of the threads but i didn't get satisfactory answers....so if anyone can help me then i will be very grateful to him...thnx

    i was not intended to do it...but i couldn't understand the instructions so it was just by mistake.Its not the matter that i want a working code...i m working on my gsm modem and i have learnt AT commands and successfully worked on that by sending msges and receving ect. but now i m not getting any clue how to move further.

    Can u tell me how to improve this mistake of taging..??

    Sorry, but this thread will remain like this unless some Keil staff intervenes.

    So you know AT commands.

    1) Make a proper electrical connection between your processor and the modem,
    taking care of any level converters in case the modem doesn't make use of
    5V signaling.

    2) Initialize the serial port in the same way that you would do in case you
    just wanted to send and receive text.

    3) Send your AT commands, and receive any responses.

    So where are you stuck?

    i my doing project of vehicle positioning and navigation using
    gsm and gps modem.I am having problem in automatically transmitting
    the information from vehicle mounted kit.How to use microcontroller
    to send the messages from vehicle mounted kit automatically.

    If, on the other hand, you actually want to learn how to do your assignment yourself, ask specific questions about specific problems that you are having. Show the users here that you have done at least a little of your own work.

    You send in the information in the same way you would send in the information if typing the AT commands manually using the Hyperterminal.

    Only difference is that you use standard serial communication - as described (hw and sw) - in umpteen threads and web projects.

    I did ask where you were stuck. Right now, you don't seem to be stuck because you don't seem to have considered my three-step list and started to wirk with the steps one-by-one.

    Do you also have this feeling that schools nowadays either:
    1. Expect way too much of people that are not given any background.
    2. People that don't belong in these schools end up with assignments that they have no idea how to tackle, hence come here commanding (yes - I was commanded today!) to deliver ready made homework.

    What is happening here? No offense, but home come so many of these applications come from a specific part of the world (that usually has a better reputation!)

    Please explain the problem(s) - then Keil may be able to adjust the instructions to be more helpful...
