i have to serially send data to remote system in 7data bits and 1 even parity bit format through the serial port of 8051.how should i configure the data format?
By looking at the Datasheet and then doing what it tells you...?
Note that the Datasheet might only mention deviations from the 8051 standard; for the 8051 standard, you need the so-called "bible" for the 8051 - links here: www.8052.com/.../120112
but the data bits are 8 in all the formats but i want 7data bits and one even parity and a stop bit
What you can do is transmit with 8 bit, but manually condition the 8th bit as parity (remember the 8051 has a parity flag in the PSW) and check the parity on receive.
