Using Keil UV3 version PK-51 for Silicon Laboratories 8051F930 in Vista System. Sequence appears to be true of all examples
Run Blinky in Silicon Ide Works Fine Run Blinky in Uv3 (file saves as Uv2) set targets and options appropriately, Compile L16 -- No target down load
Manually change file ending to Uv3. Open project shows on Uv2 file (all it will let me open) Close and reopen keil -- still cant see file. Manually change file ending back to Uv2 -- Reopen the project and it runs perfectly.
What am I missing, that I have to go throug such silliness simply to run an example file.
Although this is not what you post (most often it is phrased the same way as yours), this is the umpteenth post "Why does Keil flavor x.yzpq not run with SILabs flavor a.bcd". It seems that the very moment it works, either Keil or SILabs changes something and it falls apart. DO note, what makes Keil work to e.g. download via the SILabs dongle is NOT Keil software, but a SILabs "plug-in"
The only recourse that always works is to run keil for what keil is for (assemble, compile, link) and SILabs for what SILabs is for (download, debug).
You can, of course, lose your hair and spend a fortune on aspirin to locate a set of Keil and SILabs versions that happen to cooperate fully.
I have never understood what the big deal of having two entries on the taskbar is.
