i wanted to control a devices like fan or light, using mcu and the signal will be receive by the mcu came from the pc ,in the serial port.......but i dont know how to prog it for serial port to detect

You must, previously, have managed to work-out how to use the parallel port - mustn't you?
So just adopt a similar strategy in working-out how to use the serial port!
I wouldn't be surprised to find that every single book in the lists that I mentioned has something about using the serial port!
And I do know for a fact that there is an entire section in the 8052.com FAQs about using the serial port...
