I have been working with the Accutron Spear emulator and the Aspire environment for a long time for an Aduc843 project. I'm using uVision 2.4, with Aspire 1.07.
In short, I've always tolerated Aspire, even though I don't like it. Now, I had to start a new project and just can't make Aspire build it. However, if I port the project to uVision it seems to build just fine.
I downloaded the keil-spear driver, and it seems that I am able to flash the part from within uVision. However, when I try to start a debug session within uVision, it tells me that I have the "Lite version" of the debugger and I am limited to 4K. I guess at the time, we thought we'd always use aspire for debugging.
Questions: 1) Is this really a debugger issue, or could it just be that I have something configured incorrectly as it relates to the keil-spear driver? 2) If this is a real debugger issue, how can I remedy it? Can I even purchase an upgrade for uVision 2.4? I don't have any other reason to buy V3... 3) Do I have any other options (besides the obvious solution to make Aspire work)?
Thanks, John
