uVIsion simulated peripherals and ULINK2

We have recently started developing applications using an EmbeddedArtists LPC2478 OEM board with uVision3. As we have just started debugging on the board using the JTAG device, we noticed that the simulated peripherals of the microcontroller are still available for opening on the debugger menu, and that, should one open them, some "seem-to-be-realistic" values are displayed in there. We could not find indications, either in the user manual as in this forum, on the effective reliability of such informations, so our question is concerning the real compliance of the values shown in any simulated peripheral window to the microcontroller real values as the program reaches, for example, a breakpoint during a JTAG driven (not simulated)debugging session.
Thanks in advance for anyone's precious support
