Not Able to Fuse MCB2300

Hello Can anyone Please help me, I am using ISP through COM0 for fusing and Read Device Signature in MCB2300 board with LPC2388, But I am not able to Do so. It always say "Failed to autobaud - Step 1". I dont want to use JTAG. Can anyone plz help me

  • Are you using FlashMagic? It always helps if you are very explicit when asking questions?

Have you tried to run at a lower baudrate? All the way to 19200 or 9600 baud?

And have you tried to turn off the high-speed transfer option in FlashMagic?

There is a (marginally) known error in the firmware in older LPC23xx chips. My guess is that the firmware can't handle too large variance in the frequency of the internal RC oscillator. But the end result is that FlashMagic fails programming with this specific error message and you then have to try at a lower baudrate. Some chips I have seen can't autobaud higher than 38400 buad. Some only manages 19200 baud and some requires FlashMagic to run at 9600 baud.

It is only quite few chips that seems to be affected by this, but you really hate it if you find out that your prototype board can't go higher than 9600 baud - the slow transfer times really costs a lot of money.

To my knowledge, newly produced chips should have corrected firmware.
