I am unable to communicate with uart2

Hi,

I am using 89C51RE2 microcontroller . I t supports two uarts. I am able to communicate with uart1 functional pins are p3.1 and p3.0.

But I am unable to communicate with uart2 , functional pins are p6.1 and p6.0.

and I have one doubt p6.1 supports TX_1 as well as SCL but how to switch in between means I want to enable only TX_1 as uart2 transmit pin for transmission, and I want to disable SCL funtionality at that pin (p6.1)

Please any body used uart2 for communcation please send me the code I can find my mistakes.
