Prefetch Abort:ARM Instruction at 0x0000000CH

Iam using LPC2888,using keil evaluation version(mdk322a).
here is the code which compiled without any error and warning.but when i tried to debug this iam getting the

Prefetch Abort:ARM Instruction at 0x0000000CH

#include <LPC288x.H>
void wait (void)
{ int d; for (d = 0; d < 1000000; d++);
}

main()
{ int i; MODE0_2 = 0xff;

while(1) {

for (i = 1<<16; i < 1<<23; i <<= 1) { MODE0S_2 = i; wait (); MODE0C_2 = i; }

for (i = 1<<23; i > 1<<16; i >>=1 ) { MODE0S_2 = i; wait (); MODE0C_2 = i; } }
}

my keil settings are:
R/O Base : 0x10400000
R/W BAse : 0x00400000

please guide me iam new to LPC2888..

  • the problem you experience is not related to your code. you'll see that remarking all the contents of 'main' will yield the same behavior. Your processor starts fetching instructions at the wrong address - probably 0x0 rather than at your entry point (hence 0x10400000 which is where the reset vector is located).
