Hi, We're working on a target board having NXP ARM7 core based microcontroller (LPC2378). We have provided the RESET pin with a RC network in order to impose the delay for generating reset signal to microcontroller. We're noticing that sometimes the target board resets properly and sometimes doesn't. Has anyone come across a similar problem? What areas might I look in more detail in order to solve this problem? Please help.
Thanks,

Yes, that is in the very nature of such crude RC reset circuits!
"Has anyone come across a similar problem?"
Yes: anyone who uses such crude RC reset circuits will experience similar problems! eg, try searching here for "RC Reset": http://www.8052.com/forum

Don't use a crude RC reset circuit!
Use a proper reset generator - or "supervisor" - chip.
