This forum has behaved strange for quite some time. It's time Keil fix it. It's rude with a forum that throws away user posts!
The Keil web site is hosted on a very fast internet connection in a clustered and load balanced configuration with multiple servers all able to serve content from the site. As such, it is complicated.
We started experiencing a strange problem with one of the servers a few days ago that exhibits itself as a slowdown in packet delivery. Locating the problem has been difficult but we have finally narrowed it down to a compatibility issue.
The problems you are experiencing with the forum must be a side-effect of this. We are working to correct this problem but, as yet, we still have a few remaining issues.

Thanks Jon - at least it's good to know that things are in hand...

The forum is almost unusable now!
:-(
eg, see: http://www.keil.com/forum/docs/thread11356.asp
It is interresting that you Andy - and a couple of other people - produce a huge number of empty posts. I think I have only managed a single empty post. But on the other hand, I have regularly been "forbidden" from posting for up to an hour - no 'Post' button received.
I wonder if it has to do with # of posts within a short time span, or if it is affected by post size or ping time.
Previously, I almost always managed to get a 'Post' button by stepping back to the thread list, opening the thread again and press 'Reply'. Now this trick doesn't seem now ork anymore. All that seems to work is wait, wait, wait. If I spend the time reading other threads then I often loose any posts only living on the clip-board.
I've been forbidden for a few days. I finally sent email to regular tech support -- the forum-specific complaint also checked the email address, and so didn't work -- and they had a prompt response which was basically "thanks for letting us know; we're working on it; keep trying to see when it's fixed".
Hey, that one actually worked. Maybe it's fixed now :)
After some difficulties, we finally managed to isolate the problem. It was related to some tuning we did to improve the download speed of updates and other large files. We made the corrections Friday evening and everything seems to be working just fine.
Please let me know if you still experience problems on the forum.
Yes, it does seem to have been OK lately - possibly since Saturday...
Yes, definitely looking good. I haven't seen a single problem during the weekend. :)
That's good. This was a really difficult problem to track down.
The problem still lies there unfixed, though the frequency was dropped.

This forum has had the once-in-a-while empty posts for a very, very long time. Sometimes it even manages an empty poster + subject-line.
It seems that the probability varies for different users, so it may have something to do with the connection speed or post sizes.
Since the problem is at least a year old, Keil doesn't seem to hurry to hunt it down. My guess is that Keil don't have any available resources - probably spending all their time trying to keep up with the development tools...

When it recently became unworkably bad, they did, as I undrestand it, put some considerable effort in.
I'm sure we all know how hard it is to track-down intermittent faults - especially when they happen so infrequently.
I guess it's the law of diminishing returns - the effort required to fix it would far outweigh the benefit...?
I wonder how you are patient and tolerant.
Do you know any other message board which drops even single post? When the post traffic is enormous, like Yahoo, it may occur accidentally. Recently, Yahoo have suffered this accident and was accused.
However, the post traffic on this site is just "32.0 Posted/Day (Last 30 Days)"
In this mean, this site is far below the standard. If they leave this site as is, it is the problem of management decision, not about technical matter. Negligence of management.
Discard such a system and introduce existing more robust message board system.
Is KEIL a SOHO? If they would run this site in-house, they should outsource it, to focus on the development and the support on their products.
