how many gigabytes in a terabyte?
its a simple question all i want is the answer
MUPPET
Correctly. It is a simple question.
As a student, you start by - yuorself - finding the answer to simple questions. As you learn, you will be able to answer harder and harder questions.
Letting someone else supply the answers - even to the simple questions - will obviously not let you progress to the next level of knowledge.
Do you want to spend the rest of your life unable to figure out the scaling factor between a gigabyte and a terabyte? Terabyte disks are available on the shelves right now. But you can't buy one, because you will not be able to figure out if they are expensive or not compared to gigabyte disks until you know how many 1 gigabyte disks, or 10 gigabyte disks or 100 gigabyte disks or 1000 gigabyte disks that are needed to match a single terabyte disk...
Have you located Google yet?
"its a simple question..."
So, Mr 'i am not stupid', you should be smart enough to know how to use a search engine or how to ask for it POLITELY.
"its a simple question ..."
It's a trick question.
'Giga' means 'huge' 'terra' means the earth so how many 'huge' things goes to the size of the earth? Figure that out and you have the answer.
Erik
But we have to be careful to not mix the prefix ISO tera with the latin word terra, or great confusion will follow.
The original question was: "how many gigabytes in a terabyte?"
Must have been drunk when I wrote that. Intended to write "SI prefix", but managed to write "prefix ISO". Maybe an unconcious attempt at Yoda-lingo.
"But we have to be careful to not mix the prefix ISO tera with the latin word terra, or great confusion will follow."
Assuming after 's/ISO/SI/', that is the trick part I was referring to. Now the OP has so many more terms to search for in its quest for the simple answer to the simple question.

Just out of interest ... Are you the same Kiranjit Chatha that we've heard about around these parts? The one wot likes shopin, Eastenders, The Hills, Simpsons and girly magazines?
If you are, then remember this "Don't inderestimate urself"
That level of rudenes must make you mighty proud.
It can't be genetical, so you must have spent a serious amount of time to aquire the skill...
don't know about his teacher, but I give him an "F" (but an "A" for being silly, stupid, rude, unkind, trollish, and generally an ass). just ignore him, he'll go away.
