how many gigabytes in a terabyte?
"its a simple question ..."
It's a trick question.
'Giga' means 'huge' 'terra' means the earth so how many 'huge' things goes to the size of the earth? Figure that out and you have the answer.
Erik
But we have to be careful to not mix the prefix ISO tera with the latin word terra, or great confusion will follow.
The original question was: "how many gigabytes in a terabyte?"
Must have been drunk when I wrote that. Intended to write "SI prefix", but managed to write "prefix ISO". Maybe an unconcious attempt at Yoda-lingo.
"But we have to be careful to not mix the prefix ISO tera with the latin word terra, or great confusion will follow."
Assuming after 's/ISO/SI/', that is the trick part I was referring to. Now the OP has so many more terms to search for in its quest for the simple answer to the simple question.
