i started uart pgm.had some doubt

i ve started UART pgm in PL3200 which has 8051 embedded inside.
it has serial ports and RS485A & B pin and port 3 has infrared too.which port shall i choose for uart communication.
and plz guide me how to start??

    which port shall i choose for uart communication.
    either
    both will (as far as I can guess from what you post) do "UART communication" so choose the port for which the line levels is what you need.

    i guess that this is an issue of language, you need to be more specific what do you want to communicate with?

    hi eric,
    thanks.i'm a beginner for ur info.just i started to activate peripheral ports now.i did i'o port activation by led lighting.
    now i'm reading materials for UART activation.
    i'm not sure how to proceed.
    hope u got my problem now.
    ll u help me how to proceed further.
    my processor is PL3200 which has 80c51 embedded.
