One of my companies products has an 8051 variant produced by a Chinese manufacturer (P/N STC89LE52AD (40 Dip) made by STC) specified. This component was obsoleted recently and I am being asked to find a drop in replacement.
The unique thing about this device relative to the other 8051/8052 variants with an ADC I have looked at is that the analog inputs are supported on P1.0 to P1.7 (Pins 1-8).
Does anybody know of anything that may work as a drop in for this?
I am able to modify the code to support any different SFR's, header files, etc. - Due to UL restrictions, I cannot change the PCB at this point in time.
Thank you Michael Jensen
Before I forget to mention or somebody suggests doing so, I have already searched the parametric search on Keil (http://www.keil.com/dd/search_parm.asp)
"Due to UL restrictions, I cannot change the PCB at this point in time."
Are you allowed to use an adaptor PCB to make the "drop-in"...?
Eventually, we would be. However, from what I am told, this would entail about a months work of testing and documentation. We are supposed to launch product before that time period and are do not have enough inventory of the obsolete component to tide us over.
