how to write a program for COM Port
Step 1: plan what to do Step 2: open editor Step 3: enter code Step 4: try to compile Step 5: fix compilation errors Step 6: try to run Step 7: debug
If above is too many steps, google for solution.
rather than renumbering it all, I'll insert 'step 0
Step 0: read the datasheet and manuals Step 1: plan what to do Step 2: open editor Step 3: enter code Step 4: try to compile Step 5: fix compilation errors Step 6: try to run Step 7: debug
Erik
Note that a "COM Port" is a specific feature of a PC - Keil don't make tools for writing PC programs
Sheesh, Erik. Everybody knows you're supposed to leave space in the numbering for later insertions.
Step 100: read the datasheet and manuals Step 110: plan what to do Step 120: open editor Step 130: enter code Step 140: try to compile Step 150: fix compilation errors Step 160: try to run Step 170: debug Step 180: while bugs goto 130
Step 0: read the datasheet and manuals
I'm glad to see you're beginning to take some of my advice on board!
why take what I have NOT your 'advice' but the use of datasheets and manuals.
stop the BS
Sheesh, Erik. Had Per followed your advice I would not have had a step 0 :)
Sheesh, Drew! You've got a potentially infinite loop there:
Step 180: while bugs goto 130
Everyone knows you need an "escape" clause if the loop's gone round too many time; in this case, go back and read the docs again!
Could you translate that into something a little closer to English?
Please don't use SMS abbreviations in a professional forum.
sure, I read datasheets and manuals when you were still in diapers (no mature individual would be as obnoxious as you). Since I have done so for ages, I do not need your advbice to do what I am already doing.
stop the BS Please don't use SMS abbreviations in a professional forum. 1) that is a standard abbreviation from long before SMS 2) people that would NEVER use the full word freely use the abbreviation 3) spelling it out might offend someone.
It is clear from this thread that you aren't actually too keen on reading manuals:
http://www.keil.com/forum/docs/thread9676.asp#msg46459
3) spelling it out might offend someone.
Such as here:
It might be 'clear' to YOU however, you definitely suffer from an enormous gap between reality and what is clear to you.
That I have no intention of discussing my reading of manuals with an idiot say NOTHOING about my reading of manuals.
only a blabbering idiot can claim that if you document an inconsitency it stops being inconsistent.
Why are these discussions spreading to all threads in the forum? Stop this brush fire now! It isn't gaining points in any direction, only irritating people!
If this is important - trade email addresses or phone numbers. Or do what the street punks do: meet in an alley, and decide the outcome with a nice piece of lumber, or maybe a crowbar...
I'd love to stop.
look around, each and every one is started by Jack.
OK, let me end it since Jack seems incapble of doing so.
Jack Sprat is a blabbering idiot that claims to know what I do and do not do.
If he has psychic powers, so be it, but till he sit next to me and I express every thought that goes through my head there is no way in hades he can state what i do and do not do.
from now any post from Jack that implies that he knows what I am doing or not doing will be responded to like this.
I hope this will stop his blabber.
"I hope this will stop his blabber."
No, It'll just encourage him.
He only does it to annoy, because he knows it teases.
Just ignore it.
