Availability of good quality FAT16 code

Hello

I have developed interface MMC to 8052 and works well.

Foreign developer did module for FAT16 and I try it.

Source code he give is no good and has too many bugs!

Can anyone suggest where I can find source code for FAT16 that is good and work well on embedded? maybe open source?

I try google find some, but either big (not for 8052) or poor quaility (beta and known bugs) etc
