MISRA-C

MISRA stands for "Motor Industry Software Reliability Association". IAR has an Embedded Workbench which I believe is a Tester to verify the implementation for the MISRA C rules.

Does KEIL have a such a tool?

If there a PDF document available that spells out the rules. I have search and all I can find are test suites.

  • "so, Jack, try to get this into your peabrain (I know it is difficult, but try to read it ten times)
I do not show such idiots diddlysquat."

But you DO show him exactly what he wants, and time and time again, we watch these conversations that sound like little children who've too-early been allowed to sit at the grownup table: One who has to have the last word, and one who thinks well-written English makes insults more erudite.

Let me try and spell this out for both of you:

Erik, Jack does not respect your opinions and holds you in low regard because he feels your particular method of solving problems and answering questions is inferior. He challenges you because a.) He enjoys seeing you get progressively more angry and b.) He thinks it will somehow "enlighten" the rest of us not to "trust you."

Jack, You've done a bang-up job of proving to everyone that you're a methodical person who doesn't care for Eric's style. Your well-written posts, however, are no less irritating and useless than the ones from Erik you constantly decry as heresy. Rest assured, you do us no favors that can draw our own conclusions about the world.

Your wars are like Tesla and Edison (en.wikipedia.org/.../War_of_Currents), throwing stones at each other over their conflicting styles. Eventually the rest of the world learned that each of their methods has its place. Perhaps you can resolve this a bit quicker than they did before people abandon Keil's forums altogether?

  • Erik, Jack does not respect your opinions and holds you in low regard because he feels your particular method of solving problems and answering questions is inferior

I guess the reason is different.

My guess is that once he appeared under his real name and I proved him wrong (or maybe just strongly disagreed with him) and as all other little children he takes every chance he has to stamp his little feet in the ground.

    final word
whoever you are hiding under the smoked sardines, send me an e-mail or post under your real name and we will resolve this.

if you insist on maintaining your cowardly assumed name, I'm done.

    Erik

  • "final word

Mark this: there will be no resolution to these arguments. You will simply have to dismiss them and ignore him hereafter.

"if you insist on maintaining your cowardly assumed name, I'm done."

Let me just interject: He could easily choose another (real-sounding) pseudonym and continue baiting you. Just do this: If you see a post that's insulting in tone and of substantially the same content: JUST IGNORE IT. It will be hard at first, but pay off by tenfold.

  • I guess the reason is different.

Well, you would, wouldn't you? You are prepared to argue any ridiculous standpoint in the face of solid evidence to the contrary.

I wonder whether reality and Erikworld will ever converge.

My guess is that once he appeared under his real name and I proved him wrong (or maybe just strongly disagreed with him) and as all other little children he takes every chance he has to stamp his little feet in the ground.

No, I'm afraid not. Jay summed up the real situation most succinctly.

    the smoked sardine:

indeed he did, so consider thus responding to Jay and ignoring the smoked sardine.

    Erik

  • indeed he did, so consider thus responding to Jay and ignoring the smoked sardine.

    I did respond to Jay.

    What's your point?
