ULINK and ARM

Hi,

I bought a DK3400 (for uPSD3400). This kit contains an ULINK USB-JTAG Adapter.

And now I want to buy the MCB2140.
Does this ULINK USB-JTAG Adapter work with MCB2140? Or have I to buy another one for the MCB2140?

thanks

  • Joseph,

Yes the ULINK adapter will work but the ribbon cable is the wrong size. The uPSD JTAG adapter is a 14-pin header (2x7) whereas most ARM kits tend to use a 20-pin header (2x10). If you open up the ULINK device you will see that next to the spot where the ribbon cable plugs in there are other headers for different targets. Simply get a short length of ribbon cable with a 20-way connector on each end and plug it in.

I also bought a ULINK for the uPSD family. I filed the lid of my ULINK so that I can get both the 20w and the 14w cables out of the same device. Its working a treat with my new ARM dev board.

You need to make sure the header is the right way round. Look up the pin-out for the header and check it with a multimeter.

    Hope this helps,
