change TxD pin termporary to other Pin

I would like to change the TxD pin on LPC908(p 1.0) to an other pin temporarly and after some executions of some function want to change the porting back to original. Is this possible in 8051?

Maybe an application for a software UART?

Thank you for the reply, I have very little space left on the LPC908 as it is only 1KB so a Software UART would demand more space. Anyhow i changed some routines and now i found that my application is working.
