Trouble displaying on second line of PC1202-A

Hi!

I'm working with the Powertip character LCD (PC1202-A). The LCD driver is HD44780 compatible. I've tested all the other functions and they are working fine but I'm unable to display anything on the second line. I'll be very grateful if i could get any help on this issue.

  • I've tried writing at 40h. Also I've tested other possible addresses.
I believe the problem lies with initialization, because even if I don't send a function set command, the LCD behaves the same. Using standard methods and applying varied delays I've tried almost everything in vain. The LCD simply initializes to the standard 8-bit, 1-line, 5x7 dots!
