Hello, I installed C166 V6.00a over my old V.504, (logged in as Administrator) , got a new LIC from Keil, tried to compile a larger project and everything worked fine. I usually work on my XP Home SP2 with a restricted user account, not as an Admin. So when I log into my restricted account and compile the same project as before, I get the following warning C500 LICENCE ERROR (R208: RENEW LIC) on every module compiling. I checked the registry rights of HKLM/System and HKLM/Software, which are set to 'read allowed'. I temporary changed the restricted account to an Admin-account, but the error remain. Login with AdminAccount from which V6.00 was installed : Compiler works without error. Now I reinstalled my old V5.04 and everything is ok for now, saying I can work with my restricted account as before. Perhaps anyone has an idea what's going wrong there ? TIA (and sorry for bad english) Robert
Sorry, we cannot duplicate this. Everything works fine here, even with limited accounts on Win XP. Is there anything special on this computer or something that we overlooked? Reinhard
Just created two new testaccounts: one admin, one restricted user. I tried to compile my project from both new accounts. Always get the Licence error. It only works errorfree with the admin-account, from which the LIC was entered. My system is XP Home SP2. Nothing special. C166 V5.04 works the expected way from every account I logon. Robert
That is quite strange. Can you please check the SN string displayed when you call the C166.EXE from a DOS prompt (you need not to compile any program). It displays as:
C166 COMPILER V6.00 - SN: XXXXX-XXXXXX
Hi, yes, SN's are identical. I have a FAT32 filesystem, not a NTFS. Could this lead to this behavior? Robert
FAT / NTFS should not make any difference. I would like to send you a test DLL. Please send an email to support.intl@keil.com so that I can email you this test DLL. Reinhard
