how to implement the 8051 with a timer that is in milliseconds ?Urgent, help needed!!

hi everybody,
if there anywhere i can find infomation that can have a timer that is in milliseconds in 8051 kitset. i heard that 8051 kitset can't do it.milliseconds is too small.any way i can solve this problem? thanks people!

    Two pieces of advice:

    1) When in Rome, do as the Romans do. (i.e. this forum == Rome and you're a guest).

    2) You can configure timers in the 8051 a number of ways. It all boils down to technique. Because of this, it is best to first gain a full understanding of the 8051 timer architecture and for that, refer to the tech document links someone posted above.
