Hi, I would like to know how I could use my Jtag interface to debug with the hardware trough µVision Thanks
Isn't it a bit late in the day to be starting out with Triscend? Have you tried Zylogic? What version of FastChip are you using? The latest FastChip installations set this up for you automatically. See also http://www.keil.com/appnotes/docs/apnt_159.asp
I'm working for a research center wich have chosen Triscend in times they were still quiet reliable, moreover, the CSoC architecture has an educational interest... So Triscend it is. I use FastChip 2.5 and can't get a newer version. The application note you've linked seems interesting, i'll try it and ask again if necessary. Thank you.
App Note 159 shows how to call command line fastchip instruction to download code, but isn't it possible to use the "D scope" integrated debugger trough JTAG onto the hardware ?
No answer ?? I guess this means there's no way to do step by step with the hardware trough Jtag...
"No answer ??" Whoooaaa there! this is a free discussion forum - nobody is paid to just hang around waiting to do your bidding! "I use FastChip 2.5 and can't get a newer version." If your institution wanted to contiue using Triscend, why didn't they get the final update while they still had the chance?! "isn't it possible to use the "D scope" integrated debugger trough JTAG onto the hardware ?" DScope was obsolete even when Triscend started up! You need to use uVision-2, and read the Triscend documents for instructions on configuring it to use the Triscend JTAG interface.
"I'm working for a research center wich have chosen Triscend in times they were still quiet reliable" Triscend's been dead over a year now - so this can't have been a recent decision, surely? Surely, there must be people there who know how to set this stuff up by now? You need to find the TE5_UV2.dll driver file, and create a suitable entry in the Keil TOOLS.INI file: http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=88611 Remember to start the Triscend JTAG "server" thingy before uVision. If you have a Keil hardware dongle, it will interfere with the Wiggler! :-(
"Whoooaaa there! this is a free discussion forum - nobody is paid to just hang around waiting to do your bidding!" Sorry, I'm out of patience, but I didn't wanted to be that respectless with you. So, all right thank you, I've found the file te5_uv2.dll on the PC I work on, so I'll go on. Thanks for the time spent.
