Version Control Systems

Considering VCS. Any recommendations pro/cons from among the systems supported by uVision?

  • I use Perforce. It is a very high integrity version control system. It is free for 2 users/client workspaces, else you have to pay for it.

I don't know if it integrates with Keil though, for I don;t find a svcs file, but I do know it does integrate with CodeWarrior for which I am very familiar and use everyday.

Anyway, even if it does not integrate directly with Keil you will see a R/O in Keil if you can not modify a file when it is open in your project. So just close it. Open for write in Perforce and then re-open in Keil.

There is a Microsoft format that Perforce adhears to so if Keil does then contact Perforce directly. I have not approached them yet for I am satisfied with this little irritation.

If you need a little advice on setting up say so offline.

    A fabulous svcs.

Compact, simple, cheap - and it works!
