Hi, If you dont want to buy a programmer (which can be expensive), why not ensure that you to program the chip in circuit? In particular, some/all? atmel chips are easy to use this way. Mark.

There is no "incircuit programmer" it is In circuit programming Depending on the device, you need an Atmel cable or, as for the Rx2, you just connect to the serial port. refer to the Atmel Website.
