about the address decode of C164CI

Hello every one.

Now I have a C164 board "SK-164" made by phytec. In the page 39 of the hardware manual, it says that "if use Chip-Select Signals to decode address, the JP9 should be on 1+2 state and JP4 should be opened. On this ocassion, /CS0 (P4.3) selects the Flash memory installed at U8/U9 (Flash bank) with a total memory of 64 kByte. /CS1 (P4.2) selects the RAM bank at U10/U11 with a total memory of 64 kByte."

But I don't know why the memory is limited to 64 kByte.

On page 33,it alse says that "If jumper JP8 is open at 7+8 and open at 9+10 two Chip-Selects ( /CS0 and /CS1 for the on-board memory) are available, the address space for each Chip-Select is limited to 256 kByte."

Can you help me? Thanks.

  • I'm in asia ,and I just want to know why it said that.

Probably to connect you with the closest representative. We frequently have the problem that customers from Europe call Keil in the USA when it would be more convenient for them to call someone who is local.
