Hi, Iam interested in getting the number of clock cycles taken by each instruction in the listing file (LST file). Is there any option to do this with c51?. (or) Is there any other way to get the number of clock cycles for each instruction of a C program. I did it for COSMIC ST7 compiler. Looking forward for your reply. Thank you. Regards, sivakumar

"where can download to download "the bible". I searched in the web iam not able to find it." What, no hits at all? Search this forum for "the bible" and follow the second hit. Stefan
The documents commonly referred to as "the bible" for the 8051 are: http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/acrobat/various/80C51_FAM_ARCH_1.pdf http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/acrobat/various/80C51_FAM_PROG_GUIDE_1.pdf http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/acrobat/various/80C51_FAM_HARDWARE_1.pdf The PROG_GUIDE is the one that includes the Instruction Set description, and timings for the standard 8051 The instruction set is the same for all variants, but the timings will differ on "accelerated" variants. Vendors will be keen to point out the advantages of their products, so it should be easy to obtain details of the "enhanced" timings...!
On the other hand, if it's The Bible that you're after, try: http://bible.gospelcom.net/bible?search=ask+seek+find&SearchType=AND
