Lint error translator from Keil?

I donwloaded the latest *.lnt files from Keil today. It had a file named LINTXLAT.EXE. When I ran it from the command line, it showed this message.

Lint Error File Translator. Version 1.57
Copyright (c) 1992-1996 Bitware, Inc. All rights reserved.

Does anyone know what this program is for and what it does?
