If you're a student: Pay attention in lectures; Review notes/handouts afterwards; follow-up any suggested further reading or excercises. Do your assignments/homework diligently. If you have problems, talk to your tutors. Get to know your library - and use it! Get to know a good internet search engine - and use it! Google is the favourite these days; I use AltaVista. Manufacturer's data sheets, application notes, support websites, etc are there to help you - use them.
