Hi, I was wondering if anybody here has gotten the Uv2 IDE to work under Linux with wine. It does work pretty well for me except when it comes to the debugger using a monitor. For some reason wine does not seem to be handling serial ports as the debugger expects it to, and the IDE reports that the connection is lost. Any pointers?
Hi Luis, no idea, what would be usefull to you, since most likely you know the special limitations of wine. But I am really surprised, that somebody take a try under LINUX . I had a long time the wish to try it out, but no time and really some doubts. It is very interesting to me to hear this. If any news, would you be so kind to inform me ? If you are minded to do so , I will leave my e-mail contact here. Thanks in advance, Stefan
Sure, no problem. The IDE actually works very well. The mouse scroll wheel even works on the output pane, something that I haven't gotten to do under Windous ;-) But of course I need the debugger. It just doesn't seem to be that far just working ...
I successfully tested uVision2/C166 (debugging over RS232 and the parallel port dongle attached) in VMware 4.x under Redhat Linux 9 (Kernel 2.4.20). However, VMware is not free.
