Dear friends! I am study XC161 now, and use its kit. But there are no external RAM on my target board, so I have a little problem with debugging on it. Cause the endurance of internal Flash is not big, I decided to use external Atmel flash (CS0). Maybe there are Boot (monitor) or other "ready" tools for that case. Can anybody help me? Thank you advance. Yuri
I see that XC16x is problematic chip. And nobody use it.
I dont see a problem using the internal flash for debugging.
Endurance for Flash is state as 100 times reprogrammable over the lifetime of 10 years and the full temperature range. In practice a chip accepts several 10.000 reprogramming cycles. However, I would not ship the chip that has been used for extensive debugging in an end-user product. ULINK (http://www.keil.com/ulink) works fine for both debugging and Flash programming.
