I'd be willing to register

Against what I believe in and want, I'd be willing to register or some such thing if that gave me the opportunity to default "Send me an e-mail message when someone posts to this thread" to unchecked.

Please include this preference in the cookie you serve me, it will make it taste so much better.

The settings page asks for:

First Name,

Last Name,

E-mail address,

Number of threads to list per page,

and Whether or not you want to receive e-mail for responses.

Except for the number of threads per page, that's the same information you enter to post a message.
