Does the Keil debugger support the XC161CJ on chip debugger, and if so, what hardware connects between the PC and the JTAG pins on the XC161CJ. Is there a USB or parallel to JTAG converter "Wiggler?"? If so, who makes these?
Not sure how the Keil tools work but Lauterbach supports JTAG debugging and In Circuit Emulation. Their products are pricey but I believe they are well worth it. Very powerful and very stable. -Walt
I have Hitex for the C167. It's also a good product, but I want to avoid buying an expensive emulator for the XC161CJ if the on chip debugging is sufficient. Hitex requires me to buy the software package to get the on chip debugging hardware, even though I own the version that came with the C167 bondout chip. You haven't lived until you've glued studs on your chips to attach the bondout.
We are working on a product called U-LINK that does just exactly that. http://www.keil.com/ulink It will be available by the end of the year. Jon
I noticed there was a "ULINK" post earlier on this forum, and a web search found nothing for it. Are there BETA versions out there? I just wondered how there would be a post if there wasn't a product out yet.
a web search found nothing for it Thanks for pointing that out. The original name was USB-JTAG Adapter. That wasn't very catchy, so we renamed it to ULINK. But someone forgot to update the web pages. :-( Jon
It looks like there are Beta version out there. It would be nice to at least know its capabilites and price so we can decide if its worth the wait. http://www.keil.com/forum/docs/thread1894.asp -Walt
