Connection of XC161 through wiggler/OCDS via parallel port

I am a student at a technical college in Denmark, and i'm currently working on my final project, involving developement on a XC161 starterkit. My question is, is it possible to connect this board through the wiggler mounted on the board to the parallel port on a PC without a hardware debugger, using the OCDS driver XC166 in Keil?
At the moment I have connection to the board through this setup, and when I start debugging, Keil communicates correctly with the board, and uploads the monitor+software to the target, but when i try single-tepping/running through my code, the connection is ?lost? and the program counter is not incremented. It is as if the monitor on target crashes.
I would be very grateful of any suggestions towards a solution of my problem, as I'm getting quite desperate.
