I have a program about 1K size to program into 4K rom space. Linker is giving ADDRESS SPACE OVERFLOW error for certain segments (2 interrupt segments and const segment) but these code are small enough to fit to remaining 3K. When I increase the code space to 32K, the map file indicates that these problem segments are located starting from 4000H, which probably explains my problem. Why 4000H??
Sounds like you have a free Eval version - read the restrictions on the free Eval and you'll see why!
You are right. I was testing to assemble my small code with evaluation version, since it was small enough to fit in evaluation's 2K. Our main machine is always busy. Didnt know the eval ver. would make layout differently. I should test it with the real version.

Whenever someone gives away a "free" evaluation or demo version of an expensive product, you can be sure that there'll be some sort of restriction/catch in it - otherwise, how could they do business with the real product?! So, it always pays to check closely to see precisely what you do & don't get for "free"
