Cost-reduced "universal" 8051 device

Hello,

We have a very nice inventory position on a Triscend E5 device. The E5 is something of a universal 8051, or "derivative on demand" as we call it.

Can't find an 8051 with 3 UARTS? Can't find one with 2 SPI ports and a CAN bus? Through a software download, you can create your own 8051 derivative, right at your desktop, with no NRE fees. This is a standard "off the shelf" part. Also, the 8051 itself runs at 40MH with a 4-1 clock-to-instruction ratio. So it's peppy. We have over 200 customers worldwide using the E5.

The reason I'm posting is that we have an errata version of the TE505 (about 5K gates logic) where the UART has a flaw and we can't sell this as an ordinary 505. So while the standard device sells for $10 or so in volume, we're ready to move these devices much more aggressively. Please have a look at http://www.triscend.com if you want datasheets, etc. Also, Keil s/w supports the E5 family.

So if you have an interest in this, please email me at chris@triscend.com. Otherwise, please forgive this commercial posting.
