I was wondering why usually on any startup code the h/w watchdog gets disabled ? Is there any reason for that?
I think it is disbaled because you don't know how much time it takes for your board startup to complete,once you know the time you can reconfigure the HW watchdog timer to that time and keep it ON in the startup ..is my understanding correct?

Usually boot is done in single thread context , you need to take care of wdt ping in each driver/ or time to time
you can enable HW at start but take care of ping
