We got a project that still use this 5 years old compiler ARM v5/06u6.
Would you please help us to get it. Thank you.
Do you want to use the compiler standalone or in combination with an IDE like MDK/µVision or ArmDS?
You could for example purchase a new license of MDK (https://www2.keil.com/mdk5/) and then download and install the Arm compiler 5.06u6 (https://developer.arm.com/tools-and-software/embedded/arm-compiler/arm-compiler-5/downloads). By using an evaluation license, you can test this right away.
Thank you for your answer!
We do not use IDE, just the compiler v5.06u6 which is in DS-5_v5.28.1.
We already got a floating license of this version and it expires soon, Can we extend our license? (Our local distributor does no longer sell the license of DS-5)
DS-5 is discontinued, but this product was developed further and is now called Arm Development Studio (https://www.arm.com/products/development-tools/embedded-and-software/arm-development-studio). It is still Eclipse-based and you could load your DS-5 projects into it if you want to use an IDE.
Our distributor in your country can either sell you an upgrade to ArmDS or you need to purchase a new license, especially when you previously purchased a time-limited license.
For some specific reasons, we have to stick with DS-5 for the ARM compiler v5.06u6 and until now our local distributor only proposes us to buy ARM DS which we cannot use with our project.
Can we buy a license of DS-5 directly from ARM?
Hi Hans. Can we buy ARM DS license and use it for DS-5?
>Can we buy a license of DS-5 directly from ARM?No, as I already mentioned, DS-5 is discontinued.
>Can we buy ARM DS license and use it for DS-5?I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think so (I'm an expert for MDK). Your distributor should be able to help you with this question. However, you wrote that you want to use the compiler version 5.06u6. You can do this with ArmDS and with MDK. What CPU or MCU do you use in your application?
