Hello Community,
I would like to know the Current Consumption details of the ARM Cortex-R52 Processor which is embedded in the Ethernet Switch developed by Marvell-88Q5192 which is being used in one of the Products I'm currently working on.
I need these details to be able to design the Power Supply solution to the complete Product. And, I need these details in relevant Operational Modes like Active, Sleep, Idle, Power Off state.
Can you please help me with these details.
Could not find them in the ARM Cortex R52 Datasheet Online.
Thank you.
Power consumption of the IP will depend on the specific silicon implementation and operating point frequency/voltage. I would suggest contacting Marvell, as Arm is not the manufacturer of this chipset.
Kind regards, Pete
To find the current consumption details for the ARM Cortex-R52 processor, especially as it relates to the Marvell 88Q5192 Ethernet switch, you might have to consult a few different sources:
1. Marvell Documentation: The most reliable source would be the datasheet or technical reference manual for the Marvell 88Q5192. This document should provide specific details about the power consumption of the ARM Cortex-R52 in various operational modes.
2. ARM Documentation: The ARM Cortex-R52 documentation may provide general power consumption figures, but keep in mind that actual consumption can vary based on implementation and workload.
3. Application Notes: Sometimes, manufacturers provide application notes or design guides that include power consumption data for their products.
4. Support Forums and Communities: Engaging with Marvell’s technical support or community forums may yield insights from other engineers who have worked with the same hardware.
5. Simulation Tools: If you have access to simulation tools or software that models power consumption, you could estimate the current consumption based on various workloads and operational modes.
If you still can't find specific numbers, reaching out directly to Marvell's technical support may be your best bet for detailed and accurate information regarding power consumption in the operational modes you mentioned.
For power consumption details specific to the ARM Cortex-R52 in the Marvell 88Q5192, especially across different operational modes, the best approach would be to:
Contact Marvell Directly: Since these details are specific to how Marvell has implemented the Cortex-R52 in the 88Q5192, Marvell’s technical support team should be able to provide precise power consumption information for active, sleep, idle, and power-off states. Marvell may have detailed power profiles or application notes available for design purposes.
Check ARM Cortex-R52 Licensing Documents: While the ARM Cortex-R52 datasheet doesn’t usually include current consumption, Marvell might include a power management guide tailored to its implementation, as power draw can vary with customizations.
Look for Relevant Application Notes or Power Characterization Documents: Some suppliers release these documents to assist with power budgeting. If Marvell hasn’t published specific power consumption details publicly, they might still share them under an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement).
Let me know if you need assistance with reaching out to Marvell or additional design resources for power solutions!
