Realview Debugger 3.1 : machine cycle count for Cortex-a8

Hi All,
I am running a project on Cortex-a8 core on RealView Debugger 3.1. Could anyone please tell what tool should I use to get the machine cycles count for the project? Could I use clock() function to get the counts? How accurate is clock()? Or is there any analyzer tool to solve this purpose?

Hi Rajeeva,
U can use the timer that r present for cortexA8 in order to the machine count for the function. The memory mapping of timers is given in the installed dir(RVDS)/ ISSM/readme.txt.

Are you using the ISSMs? If so, remember that they are functional models - not timing accurate.
