Is Dstream backwards compatible with ARMv7 & ARMv8?

Hi, experts

     now I'm using DS-5(v5.13 Ultimate) + Dstream to debug cortex-A9 processor.

     I'm going to have new platform with cortex-A53 processor, I was informed that I have to update DS-5(v5.22 or later) and update firmware within Dstream as well.

     My question is,

     if I update the firmware inside Dstreamer, can I still work on cortex-A9 processor?
