DS-5 Community edition download link broken

Hi,

After successful form submission I got  mail with the download link for the DS-5 community edition.

But when I click the link it opens a new tab and displays ERROR 404 page or product not found.

  • Hi Rohit

Thanks for your interest in Arm DS-5 Community Edition, but apologies for the inconvenience due to the broken download link. I've done a quick test and can reproduce the problem for the Linux version of Arm DS-5. I was able to download the Windows version OK. Does that match with what you saw? I've alerted our Online Team to the problem and hope to have it fixed soon, though there may be a delay due to the Christmas break.

In the meantime, please be aware that DS-5 is now quite old, and has been superseded by "Arm Development Studio". Can you try Arm DS instead? A free 30-day trial of the latest Arm DS Gold Edition is available from developer.arm.com/.../downloads

  • Both the linux and windows links seem to broken for me as i get the same error on both the cases.

  • Hi Rohit

Thanks for your fast reply.  I've done some more testing and there does seem to be an intermittent 404 problem, for both the Windows and Linux download links, at least for my browser.  However, after reloading/refreshing the page, I've been able to download both versions successfully.  Please could you try reloading/refreshing the page?  I found that I sometimes had to do that several times.

However, I'd recommend that you try "Arm Development Studio" instead.

  • more accurately the links provided in the email dont work for me either

  • Hi Kallu

Sorry to hear that you've hit this problem as well.  Arm is investigating why the download links are intermittent.

Have you tried closing the browser, then trying the download links again, and reloading/refreshing the page?  That worked for me after a few attempts.

Alternatively, please try the free 30-day trial of the latest "Arm Development Studio" Gold Edition available from
    developer.arm.com/.../downloads

  • Hi Stephen

It still doesn't seem to work for me after trying to reload and trying it out on different browsers.

Is there any way the activating code for the community edition to be mailed to me.

  • Hi Stephen,

I've tried multiple browsers. I've tried reloading the link several times. DS-5 community has a limited version of Streamline which I wanted to have another look.

    Best regads,

    Kalevi

  • Hi Rohit,

Sorry for the delay due to the Christmas holidays.  We're still investigating what might be going wrong here, and why some people are being affected, but not others.

Is there a particular reason why you particularly want to use the old DS-5 Community Edition?  Its replacement, the Arm Development Studio, is a superior product.  Please can you try downloading Arm Development Studio instead?

If you only need DS-5 to access the Streamline Performance Analyzer, then please consider downloading the free Arm Mobile Studio instead from developer.arm.com/.../arm-mobile-studio, because this includes Streamline as well as other performance analysis tools.

If you still really only want DS-5 Community Edition, then please send me a private e-mail to myfirstname dot mysurname at arm dot com and I'll try to expedite your request.

  • Note that Arm Mobile Studio only support Android development, so if you are looking to do Linux profiling you will need to use Arm Development Studio.

  • Hi Kalevi

As I wrote to Rohit above, if you only need DS-5 to access the Streamline Performance Analyzer, then please consider downloading the free Arm Mobile Studio instead from developer.arm.com/.../arm-mobile-studio, as this includes Streamline as well as other performance analysis tools.

If you still really only want DS-5 Community Edition, then please send me a private e-mail to myfirstname dot mysurname at arm dot com and I'll try to expedite your request.
