ARM TechCon Application Software Developer Forum

Note: This was originally posted on 23rd October 2012 at http://forums.arm.com

If you're a developer who attended our SV Android Meetup:
http://www.svandroid...vents/85444922/

Or any of our show presentations or booth activities, including software developer office hours, and would like to further discuss ARM technologies, tools and open source projects publicly, this is our forum.

I'd like any developers who have used the giveaway development platforms to either do performance analysis (with Streamline and Gator, Native debugging) or utilize other ARM technologies (Mali software tools , NEON, Ne10 or other open source projects like OpenMax or Linaro) to improve their application performance or battery life to share their stories here or with me directly. We'd be happy to do a case study or blog about your success with these tools or demo them at future developer events.

I received a lot of great feedback on my presentation at the meetup and the show floor theater so I'm sharing my presentation here.

Thanks,
Matt

    Hi Matt,

Yesterday, I opened HDMI stick and connected to my Panasonic TV. Then, I connected an USB mouse to USB port. I connected micro-USB pin to stick and then other pin  of the power cable to USB port of my son's PS3 USB. Then, I went to GAME mode and I was able to see Anroid boot in 15 secs. MY son could not play a  GAME for sometime.

After boot, I saw Home screen with a Chinese icon. I went to the Settings->Language and changed to US English. I could do that because I had another Android 4.x tablet. I do not  know how else I could have done that.

Now, I can browse using stick's browser. Still. widgets are Chinese.

Can I go ahead and  install Google Play JAR onto the stock - let me know?

By the way, Graphics was stunning  when I played  HTML5 videos I found with Google Search.

That is my experience with HDMI stick so far.

    Thanks,

    Sunil
