parallel builds with make -j in armcc emulation mode

HI,

I have the ARM DS-5 Linux Application edition with a floating license. I've set up the license manager on my local machine(for the moment),
and armcc picks it OK(the IDE tells me also that everything is OK); the license is also reachable and usable from another developer's machine.
I'm using the compiler from the command line in GCC emulation mode, to easily fit it into our build system. The build system uses the parallel
task feature of make for the GCC based builds(make -j).
The problem I have is that the build using armcc is very slow compared against the one using GCC and I keep getting a warning about the license:

"Warning: C9933W: Waiting for license..."

Does the above warning mean that I'm restricted to only one instance of the compiler? Does it mean that I will not be able to use parallel builds with make?

    I use RVDS, rather than DS-5, but I'd guess they are the same with this regard.

    If you look at the terms of the license (I got bored once and read it) it says that you are limited to X instances.  Where X is the number of seats.  So if you have one seat, you can run one instance of the tool.

    Indeed it seems so.

    Anyway it does not "feel right" to not be able to execute multiple instances of the
    compiler process on the same machine, at least for the special case of make -j ... I'm not trying to full the licensing.
